› Musik - Religiöse Themen in der Popmusik

1.0 Einleitung

Hier einige Beispiele:

1.1 U2 - I still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For

I believe in the Kingdom come,
then all the colours will bled into one,
bleed into one, but yes I'm still runnin'

You broke the bonds, and you loosed the chains
carry the cross of my shame,
of my shame, you know I believe it

But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
but I still haven't found what I'm looking for

1.2 Kommentar

2.0 Richard Ashcroft - Check The Meaning

Too much blood, too much hate, turn off the set
There's got to be something more
When Mohammed, Allah, Buddah, Jesus Christ
Are knocking down my door
I'm agnostic getting God, but man
She takes a female form
There's no time, no space, no law
We're out here on our own

2.1 Kommentar

out here on our own« singt.

3.0 Oasis - Do You Know What I Mean

I met my maker
I made him cry
And on my shoulder he asked me why
His people won't fly through the storm

3.1 Kommentar

4.0 Manic Street Preachers - There By The Grace Of God

With grace we will suffer
With grace we shall recover
There by the grace of God
There by the grace of God

4.1 Kommentar

5.0 Cat Stevens - Jesus

They used to call him Jesus
long time ago
they're still calling him Jesus
Don't you know
They crossed the wood and hanged him
A long time ago
They still misunderstand him
Those who don´t know
And in the evening his love will lead the blind
In every secret corner there in your mind

5.1 Kommentar

6.0 The Who - Christmas

Did you ever see the faces of children
They get so excited.
Waking up on christmas morning
Hours before the winter 1's ignited.
They believe in dreams and all they mean
Including heavens generosity.
Peeping round the door
to see what parcels are for free
In curiosity.

And Tommy doesn't know what day it is.
Doesn't know who Jesus was or what praying is.
How can he be saved?
From the eternal grave.

Surrounded by his friends he sits so silently,
And unaware of everything.
Playing poxy pin ball
picks his nose and smiles and
Pokes his tongue at everything.
I believe in love
but how can men who've never seen
Light be enlightened.
Only if he's cured
will his spirits future level ever heighten.

And Tommy doesn't know what day it is.
Doesn't know who Jesus was or what praying is.
How can he be saved?
From the eternal grave.
Tommy can you hear me?
Tommy can you hear me?
Tommy can you hear me?
How can he be saved?

6.1 Kommentar

7.0 The Who - I'm Free

I'm free - I'm free,
And freedom tastes of reality,
I'm free - I'm free,
An' I'm waiting for you to follow me.

If I told you what it takes
to reach the highest high,
You'd laugh and say ›nothing's that simple‹
But you've been told many times before
Messiahs pointed to the door
And no one had the guts to leave the temple!

I'm free - I'm free
And freedom tastes of reality
I'm free - I'm free
And I'm waiting for you to follow me

7.1 Kommentar

8.0 Joan Osborne - One Of Us

If God had a name,
what would it be and would you call it to his face
if you were faced with him and all his glory
what would you ask if you had just one question?

Refrain:
And yeah yeah God is great,
yeah yeah God is good,
yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah
What if God was one of us,
just a slob like one of us
just a stranger on the bus, trying to make his way home.
If God had a face, what would it look like and would you want to see
if seeing meant that you would have to believe
in things like heaven and in Jesus and the saints and all the prophets.

Refrain:
And yeah yeah God is great,
yeah yeah God is good,
yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah

What if God was one of us,
just a slob like one of us
just a stranger on the bus, trying to make his way home,
just trying to make his way home, back up to heaven all alone,
nobody calling on the phone exept the pope maybe in Rome.
(Solo)

Refrain:
And yeah yeah God is great, yeah yeah God is good, yeah yeah,
yeah yeah yeah

What if God was one of us, just a slob like one of us
just a stranger on the bus, trying to make his way home.
like a holy rolling stone, back up to heaven all alone just
trying to make his way home,
nobody calling on the phone exept the pope maybe in Rome.

8.1 Kommentar
